Nine lives.

So i can't sleep. I have too many things swimming around in my aquarium. So here's a post to alleviate the clutter and jot down something I've been thinking about.

While I was in Chicago my friend Karren said, "Dont you wish sometimes that you could live multiple lives?" And my answer was an emphatic, "Yes."

So here is what else I would be besides the wonderful me that I am.

1. Art Curator for the Louvre. Although the Getty would come in a close second, now the getty people look like scumbags after they had to return a bunch of stolen loot to Italy and Greece. But I've always wanted to live in Paris. I've lived there for spans of 1-2 months, but never a whole year, which I want to do. Ive figured out that Ive spent approximately 6 months of my life in Paris. Pretty cool. But i need a solid year.

2. Punk/Indie Lead Singer girl. Karren told me I was the right height to be a female lead singer of a band. I would so bad. I have some of the right clothes. We'd just have to throw out the preppy stuff. And I've even taken voice lessons. My favorite lead singer girl bands: garbage, rilo kelly, feist, tilly and the wall,

3. High school English teacher. I got 5's on my English APs. I always thought that meant I should be an english teacher. It would be so fun to be a neurotic one. I would def teach AP english so I could do whatever I wanted. Like my junior year AP english teacher...she just made us read her favorite books like dubliners and confederacy of dunces (which I totally didnt read back then...I opted out w/ a different book and instead read zen and the art of motorcyle maintence..terrible book, but I just finished reading confederacy of dunces...hilarious and I highly recommend it).

4. Art restorer. Totally different than art curator but I actually could do this one. There are programs in the US but the best one is at the Courtauld Institute in London. You need a chemistry background along with art history...and I have both of those...I could work it after law school...what do you think?

5. Mother. Oh wait. This one could still happen.

6. Pediatrician. I always wanted to be a doctor and saving kids lives would be the best. Though it would be crazy hours and I would probably get too attached to my patients, I planned on going to med school till about 3 years ago...hmmm.

7. Writer. I told myself once I wanted to write the next great american novel. I wrote a lot in high school. Short stories mainly. But how cool would it be to write an actual book. Harper Lee is my hero.

8. Senator of California. After I took the AP calculus BC test my senior year of high school, our teacher made us write biographies of ourselves and he read them out loud and we had to guess which classmate it was. Mine was by far the funniest. I think I still have it...and Im totally going to post it on here. Anyway, I said that I was the future senator of a once again republican california.

OH HERE IT IS, my mystery blurb, written 5 years ago while i was a senior in high school:

I was born at Stanford Hospital, what humble beginnings. I went on to Oak Knoll Elementary school where I specialized at stealing the swings from the younger kids when I was in fourth grade. My hobbies were many – Brownies, making stews in my backyard, digging in the dumpster at Oak Knoll, and riding my bike up and down my street. I had two cats who I loved very much and played with a lot. A highlight of my early elementary life was going outside with my pappy and shooting the raccoons that liked to come to our back porch. They let out a nice squeal when we shot them, but it was never fun to clean up our back porch after the horrendous blood bath. My middle school days went by quickly. I was often spotted reading during any class I could – especially health class in 8th grade. Yuck. I think they went by quickly because I have tried to put them out of sight, out of mind. High school was a big challenge. I had to get up earlier in the morning, and go through 7 grueling periods my freshman and sophomore years. I ran with Sam and his green eggs and ham. I ran very fast some days, and others I slowed up a bit. I also joined the underground newspaper and wrote articles about the hush-hush things that happened at the high school. I quit my piano lessons for lack of time to practice between going to dance team practice every morning and studying late into the night. My junior was a bit less eventful. After a major change in my life, I started adjusting to it. With AP classes, I was kept on my toes. I found solace in serving others by performing numerous service projects during my senior and junior year. Senior year was a tough one, but I managed by trying to keep myself sane by letting go on the weekends and going insane. This summer I plan on sticking around here, getting a job, and finding plenty of time to sun myself in the West wing. For the future, I plan to rid the world of jean shorts on men (especially long ones), I plan on being a Senator for a once again Republican California, and I hope to discover a whole new branch of calculus so that students must take at least one more year in high school to make the competition even more than it already is. Besides all of those wonderful accomplishments, I really hope to just find happiness in whatever I end up doing.

9. Saving the world in Africa person. Once I lived in Ghana I knew I would never be the same person again. My heart still aches to go back. And I want to. So I wish I could devote my whole life to making things better there and living there. I love the people of Ghana. And i definitely wouldn't be a Bono type of saver...I would be more micro-scale instead of macro.

You know, as I am thinking about it. You could TOTALLY be a Bono style Save Africa Person - cause then you could be a rock star also! I think this is a good plan!

doesn't the average person chance careers four or five times in their life? you could totally get through about half your list in the next 20 years.

and by "chance careers", it's clear that i meant "change careers" right? vacation has fried my brain. (in a good way)
