CHI-TOWN. Horn o' plenty of time.

Here's Chi-town at night w/ buckingham fountain..so purty.
Buckingham Fountain in the day.

I LOVE THIS PICTURE. I'm a good photographer. haha.

SO...here's the next post in my lollapalooza update. Its kinda hard to type, I won't lie. I just got my nails done. haha.

My first outdoor festival was quite a success. BUT..tiring…so tiring! After the first day, I was just dead and I had a very pink nose. My brother was such a great lolla partner though. We always had the same ideas about who we wanted to see and where. He also put up with me having to go get water/go to the bathroom like every 10 mins on Saturday, it was quite hilarious.

Here are some great pics from when CAM and I were SO BORED during Death Cab. I seriously wanted to poke my eyes out they were so lame...*sigh* But these made us laugh.

This is a pic of Death Cab's Stage. Pretty cool lookin. Too bad they sounded lameo.

A fun thing about Lolla was that it was pretty lowkey for how many people where there. No crazy blow up dolls or mud fights or the mayhem that was lolla back in the day. Just good, fun music. Though I was quite sick of all the swearing I heard constantly…it was so nice to go to church on Sunday, I tell ya. So here’s Saturdays line up that we saw:

1. Nada Surf. They are always a party. Okay, I’ve only seen them once, but they were awesome. And I was worried about them on a bigger stage and venue, but I found them just as entertaining. And the last time the bassist really bothered me with his overtop the top dancing and mannerisms, but he wasn’t that bad this time…hurray. The dreds were definitely longer though. My favs were Paper Boats, Blonde on Blonde, Fruit Fly, and Tell Me Your Secret.

2. Feist. She’s gorgeous! And fun to watch b/c you can tell she’s crazy. And that’s what makes her music good. We sat down on the grass for this one, it was great b/c she was so chill.

3. Built to Spill. WHAT. These guys were old but can still rock it. And I love that. Old men still rockin. Their set was solid. And the lead singer was bald. Loved it.

4. Wolfmother. These guys really really rocked. And when I say rocked, they rocked. They're Aussies that sound like Led Zepplin. And they were so fun! My brother and I camped out on a grassy knoll to the right of the stage b/c we were so tired but I wished we went in the middle it was nutso. At the very end I laid down and shut my eyes, I was out cold for 10 minutes. It was quite the power nap.

5. Sonic Youth. Snooze. 'Nuff said. Oldies but they didn't rock out hard enough. Sadness.

6. The Dresden Dolls. I thought the woman was a man. They dressed up like clowns. A little freaky, but to be honest, I liked the music though.

7. The Flaming Lips. An institution, and entertaining...they had freaking santa clauses on stage with them. WHAT. And lots of silly string. Hilarious.

8. The New Pornographers. What I waited for all day...and they were awesome. The first two songs -- Twin Cinemas and Use It were high energy but they came out a bit flat. After a bit though, they were rocking out and we were close enough that I was getting into it. They ended with Sing Me Spanish Techno...*sigh*. The best part was on Sunday when cam and I were going through O'Hare airport security, we saw the lead singer and bassist. Cam told the bassist they did an awesome job.

That night we went to the choclate buffet at the Peninsula...oh dear. SO good. They had white hot chocolate, little chocolate cakes galore, dark chocolate, chocolate soup, and a pot of chocolate. My favorite was the chocolate banana creme brulee...it was like a piece of heaven. YUM.

Here are some pics from Thursday night dinner w/ Karren and Cam.
Cam ordered ribs. Then when they brought them out we laughed so hard.
They were HUGE. And the waiter apologized and told us that the head chef is 300 pounds and oves his food and the portions are a little out of control. You should have seen the mud pie we ordered..oh YUM.
Me and my seafood louie salad...SO GOOD.

During Cam's meat feast he couldn't pic up his glass. haha.

ALL DONE! He ate all of them!

I'd say the best part about chicago was staying with Miss Karren. Not only is her apt great, she is so fun to chat with and watch internet videos with. I can't even tell ya. SO GREAT. :-)
