What!? MORE. Art.
Me getting personal with Van Gogh.
More of his awesome textures.
Picasso's Red Period.
Cezanne: another genius.
Isn't Vermeer the best!? These pictures surely don't do him justice, and these arent my favorite of his...but still. Breathtaking. His light and composition.
After hitting up the Met....we went to the frick. And they don't let you take pics in there or I promise there would be some for you to enjoy. :-0
After lunch we hit up SoHo...and I got some sneaks and then it was off to Century 21 where I scored a great Kate Spade bag. Its kelly green and its big enough to fit all my folders in for interviewing!
After shopping and before dinner we took a little break in the park by city hall. Cam did his thang and got some great pics.
We ate dinner at Blue Ribbon Cafe in West Village...(?) I think...haha. Anyway, I had the lobster...so good! I have a pic of it somewhere and I'll post. One of the best things about Wednesday night was Ms. Katie Clifford was in town for some business meetings so we got to meet up and play for a bit...although I wasn't much fun b/c I felt like I had walked all over Manhattan! We got some good pics though...of course.
I just finished packing up my room. I CANT WAIT TO MOVE TOMORROW. I can't even tell you...anyway I just HAD to post before I moved since I dont know if I can steal internet over the weekend...so I might not be online for a bit, but don't worry! I'm alive!
Enjoy the weekend...

Art. More Art.
*sigh*
My brother sent me the greatest pics from NY. His camera is so ROCKIN. I mean I knew it before, but man, it actually does capture the rich textures of Van Gogh's paintings...and you know what that means...cam took lots of pics!
NYC is an amazing city. Really. It had been about a year and a half since I'd been back. I am in love with the architecture and the fact that there is always something going on...so fun! So we drove down Tuesday night...Cam is so great how he can get places fast...3 hours later we were on the Upper East Side with Ms. Ripsy Bandourian...one of my favorite people OF ALL TIME. I wished she had stayed in Boston...*sigh*. Anyway, she has the most adorable and actually, really spacious Manhattan apt. And I love the art that she has hanging in her rooms.
Wed morning Cam and I got a start on the museums we wanted to do. First up, the GUGGENHEIM. It was my first time there and I loved the building. I wasn't too thrilled about the current main exhibit, called Zaha Hadid. She was an architect but it was funny b/c she never actually built anything...she just drew up tons of crazy looking stuff. BUT still very interesting. I wished her buildings had been built so I could see the craziness in reality. That would have been cool.
Here's a view from the ground floor of the guggenheim...isn't it awesome? Its got this great swirly action going on...yes that is a technical term. Frank Lloyd Wright baby.
Me concentrating on starting up the fabulous free audio guide.
See what I mean? Thats supposed to be some night club in Hong Kong or something...WHAT.
This is a building?
Despite the unrealistic drawings of the buildings, I still found it interesting.
Anyway, I loved the permanent collection...lots of Kandinsky and they had a Jackson Pollock drawings exhibit that was cool.
After the Guggenheim, we headed straight for the Met. Oh man, I forgot how much I LOVE this museum. Its SO HUGE. And I had to see the vermeers. The vermeers! He's my favorite painter of all time. I'm so obsessed with seeing his paintings in person because pictures DO NOT do him justice. And I love the Met in how diverse its collection is. It spans the whole history of the world...wow. And now i'm going to stop talking and post pics. :-)
Tiffany mosiac. The pic doesn't do it justice.
Georgia O'Keefe. One of my favs.
*sigh* My beloved bridge.
POLLOCK.
Chagall. Another one of my favs.
Lichenstein: genius.
Yves Klein. Check out the texture Cam can capture on his camera. CRAZY.
Finally...a camera that can get up close and personal with Van Gogh.
I have no idea how Cam actually captured this yawn. Classic. The truth comes out, I actually hate art. Just kidding!
I blended quite nicely with my peach shirt into this color scheme. Too bad the lighting doesn't show my beau-ti-ful shirt. :-)

Boredom.
I love how I'm going to look at this post two weeks from now and laugh at how insane I was to think that I wished I was back in school. *sigh*
But then I remember, life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in awhile, you could miss it.

Nine lives.
While I was in Chicago my friend Karren said, "Dont you wish sometimes that you could live multiple lives?" And my answer was an emphatic, "Yes."
So here is what else I would be besides the wonderful me that I am.
1. Art Curator for the Louvre. Although the Getty would come in a close second, now the getty people look like scumbags after they had to return a bunch of stolen loot to Italy and Greece. But I've always wanted to live in Paris. I've lived there for spans of 1-2 months, but never a whole year, which I want to do. Ive figured out that Ive spent approximately 6 months of my life in Paris. Pretty cool. But i need a solid year.
2. Punk/Indie Lead Singer girl. Karren told me I was the right height to be a female lead singer of a band. I would so bad. I have some of the right clothes. We'd just have to throw out the preppy stuff. And I've even taken voice lessons. My favorite lead singer girl bands: garbage, rilo kelly, feist, tilly and the wall,
3. High school English teacher. I got 5's on my English APs. I always thought that meant I should be an english teacher. It would be so fun to be a neurotic one. I would def teach AP english so I could do whatever I wanted. Like my junior year AP english teacher...she just made us read her favorite books like dubliners and confederacy of dunces (which I totally didnt read back then...I opted out w/ a different book and instead read zen and the art of motorcyle maintence..terrible book, but I just finished reading confederacy of dunces...hilarious and I highly recommend it).
4. Art restorer. Totally different than art curator but I actually could do this one. There are programs in the US but the best one is at the Courtauld Institute in London. You need a chemistry background along with art history...and I have both of those...I could work it after law school...what do you think?
5. Mother. Oh wait. This one could still happen.
6. Pediatrician. I always wanted to be a doctor and saving kids lives would be the best. Though it would be crazy hours and I would probably get too attached to my patients, I planned on going to med school till about 3 years ago...hmmm.
7. Writer. I told myself once I wanted to write the next great american novel. I wrote a lot in high school. Short stories mainly. But how cool would it be to write an actual book. Harper Lee is my hero.
8. Senator of California. After I took the AP calculus BC test my senior year of high school, our teacher made us write biographies of ourselves and he read them out loud and we had to guess which classmate it was. Mine was by far the funniest. I think I still have it...and Im totally going to post it on here. Anyway, I said that I was the future senator of a once again republican california.
OH HERE IT IS, my mystery blurb, written 5 years ago while i was a senior in high school:

Too many things to write about.
Random pic. haha.
On my run today i figured out something. My best thoughts come while I'm running. No joke. If only I had one of those microsoft programs that could translate the thoughts in my brain to typing on the computer I would be able to have the best blog ever. I don't mean to sound pompous. Its just true.
So many of you have been wondering, why hasn't she updated her blog? Good question. This morning when I viewed my blog (yes, I view my own blog. just to make sure I don't sound idiotic) I kept refreshing it b/c I swore I had posted something later than chi-town. My apologies. As my friend said today, "I'm sick of looking at your chicago pictures." So here you go.
California pics.

CHI-TOWN. Horn o' plenty of time.
Buckingham Fountain in the day.
I LOVE THIS PICTURE. I'm a good photographer. haha.
SO...here's the next post in my lollapalooza update. Its kinda hard to type, I won't lie. I just got my nails done. haha.
My first outdoor festival was quite a success. BUT..tiring…so tiring! After the first day, I was just dead and I had a very pink nose. My brother was such a great lolla partner though. We always had the same ideas about who we wanted to see and where. He also put up with me having to go get water/go to the bathroom like every 10 mins on Saturday, it was quite hilarious.
Here are some great pics from when CAM and I were SO BORED during Death Cab. I seriously wanted to poke my eyes out they were so lame...*sigh* But these made us laugh.
This is a pic of Death Cab's Stage. Pretty cool lookin. Too bad they sounded lameo.
A fun thing about Lolla was that it was pretty lowkey for how many people where there. No crazy blow up dolls or mud fights or the mayhem that was lolla back in the day. Just good, fun music. Though I was quite sick of all the swearing I heard constantly…it was so nice to go to church on Sunday, I tell ya. So here’s Saturdays line up that we saw:
1. Nada Surf. They are always a party. Okay, I’ve only seen them once, but they were awesome. And I was worried about them on a bigger stage and venue, but I found them just as entertaining. And the last time the bassist really bothered me with his overtop the top dancing and mannerisms, but he wasn’t that bad this time…hurray. The dreds were definitely longer though. My favs were Paper Boats, Blonde on Blonde, Fruit Fly, and Tell Me Your Secret.
2. Feist. She’s gorgeous! And fun to watch b/c you can tell she’s crazy. And that’s what makes her music good. We sat down on the grass for this one, it was great b/c she was so chill.
3. Built to Spill. WHAT. These guys were old but can still rock it. And I love that. Old men still rockin. Their set was solid. And the lead singer was bald. Loved it.
4. Wolfmother. These guys really really rocked. And when I say rocked, they rocked. They're Aussies that sound like Led Zepplin. And they were so fun! My brother and I camped out on a grassy knoll to the right of the stage b/c we were so tired but I wished we went in the middle it was nutso. At the very end I laid down and shut my eyes, I was out cold for 10 minutes. It was quite the power nap.
5. Sonic Youth. Snooze. 'Nuff said. Oldies but they didn't rock out hard enough. Sadness.6. The Dresden Dolls. I thought the woman was a man. They dressed up like clowns. A little freaky, but to be honest, I liked the music though.
7. The Flaming Lips. An institution, and entertaining...they had freaking santa clauses on stage with them. WHAT. And lots of silly string. Hilarious.
8. The New Pornographers. What I waited for all day...and they were awesome. The first two songs -- Twin Cinemas and Use It were high energy but they came out a bit flat. After a bit though, they were rocking out and we were close enough that I was getting into it. They ended with Sing Me Spanish Techno...*sigh*. The best part was on Sunday when cam and I were going through O'Hare airport security, we saw the lead singer and bassist. Cam told the bassist they did an awesome job.
That night we went to the choclate buffet at the Peninsula...oh dear. SO good. They had white hot chocolate, little chocolate cakes galore, dark chocolate, chocolate soup, and a pot of chocolate. My favorite was the chocolate banana creme brulee...it was like a piece of heaven. YUM.
Here are some pics from Thursday night dinner w/ Karren and Cam.
Cam ordered ribs. Then when they brought them out we laughed so hard.
They were HUGE. And the waiter apologized and told us that the head chef is 300 pounds and oves his food and the portions are a little out of control. You should have seen the mud pie we ordered..oh YUM.
Me and my seafood louie salad...SO GOOD.
During Cam's meat feast he couldn't pic up his glass. haha.
ALL DONE! He ate all of them!
